About Us
Is the visionary founder and artist behind Alexander Kippe, specializing in the capture and meticulous editing of fine artwork. Raised in South Florida, Alexander cherished summers at his family’s multigenerational cabin in Northern Michigan, embracing his heritage as a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. This profound connection with nature inspired him to take one of his first professional underwater photographs—a basket star—during a night-time scuba dive in the Atlantic Ocean at the age of 15. This marked the beginning of his lifelong commitment to art that harmonizes natural beauty with creative expression.
Alexander’s journey culminated in the establishment of Torch Lake Gallery – Bay Harbor Collection, a world-class fine art destination, an exclusive venue thoughtfully crafted to present his creations with unparalleled elegance. The gallery’s name derives from the Native American term “Waswaaganing,” meaning “Place of Torches.” This pays homage to ancestral fishing practices where torches were used at night to attract fish, reflecting his profound connection to heritage and light.`
